Knit Tutorial - Alternating Cable Cast-On

Step by Step Guide:

  1. Start with a slipknot on your left needle.

  2. Insert the right needle into the slipknot and knit into it. (Insert from left to right, wrap the tail around the needle, and pull through the loop)

  3. Place the stitch from the right needle onto the left needle.

  4. Pull the yarn tail to the front, insert the right needle into the space between the loops on the left needle, wrap the tail around and pull through.

  5. Place the created stitch from the right needle onto the left needle.

  6. Pull the yarn tail to the back, insert the right needle into the space between the last two loops on the left needle, wrap the tail around and pull through.

  7. Place the created stitch from the right needle onto the left needle.

Repeat steps 4-7 as many times as you need until you have the required number of stitches cast on.
