This technique is a Brioche decrease, that decreases 5 stitches into one. This decrease is symmetrical, with the central stitch being the one that remains after the decreases are done.
To work a Brioche 4 st decrease, or br4st dec, follow these instructions. I have broken them down by one individual action per line, as Brioche stitches can sometimes look overwhelming, when you first look at them.

slip 2 stiches individually knitwise (including the yarn over)

place the next stitch on the left needle including its yarn over on a cable needle and hold in front of the work

knit 1

lift the next stitch on the right needle over this stitch and drop the lifted stitch off the needle

transfer the knit stitch back to left needle

lift the next stitch on the left needle and its yarnover over this stitch and drop the lifted stitch off the needle

transfer the knit stitch to the right needle again

lift the next stitch and its yarnover over this stitch and drop the lifted st off the needle

place stitch from cable needle onto the left needle

transfer knit stitch from the right to the left needle

lift the stitch from the cable needle and its yarnover over this st and drop the lifted st off the needle

transfer the knit stitch back to the right needle to continue
